Original: Seven sailors missing after drones strike tankers near Romania’s Black Sea coast

Seven sailors are missing after drones struck two tankers off Romania's Black Sea coast, the Guardian reports. The attack comes amid ongoing strikes on shipping in the Black Sea, raising fears for crew safety and maritime traffic in the region. Romanian authorities are expected to lead search efforts for the missing seafarers.

Why now: An attack on commercial shipping close to EU territory highlights the spillover of the Black Sea conflict into NATO-member waters.
