Steam Client Now Faster Than Epic's New Launcher

Original: Steam Client is now faster than Epic's new vibe coded launcher

Valve's Steam client is reportedly outperforming Epic Games' newly rebuilt launcher in speed tests, with commentary mocking Epic's rewrite as 'vibe coded'. The comparison has sparked debate among gamers and developers about whether modern rewrites justify the performance regressions, with Steam's older codebase coming out ahead.

Why now: People are amused and critical that Epic's rewritten launcher performs worse than Valve's long-standing client.
