Astronomers report first green star and reddest star ever recorded
Original: ⋅ Astronomers discover first green star and the reddest star ever recorded − https://www. popsci.com/science/first-green
Astronomers have identified what they describe as the first green star ever observed, alongside the reddest star on record, according to Popular Science. Unusual colors in stars are rare because stars emit across a broad spectrum, so a genuinely green-appearing star would be a notable curiosity. Space and science communities are sharing the finding and discussing what the colors reveal about the stars' temperatures and compositions.
Why now: The claim of a green star is surprising because stars are rarely seen as green, making the discovery attention-grabbing.
