EU plans support for Ukrainian defenses amid Starlink curbs
Original: EU to Counter Musk’s Pro-Kremlin Starlink Speed Limit With Assist to Ukrainian Defenders
The European Union is preparing measures to help Ukrainian defenders counter the effects of Elon Musk's limits on Starlink speeds, which Kyiv Post characterizes as favoring the Kremlin. The plan follows complaints that throttled satellite internet coverage hampers Ukrainian battlefield communications, with the EU moving to provide alternative assistance to offset the impact.
Why now: Tensions over Musk's control of Starlink and its role in Ukraine's war effort are driving fresh debate about Europe's defense autonomy.
