German associations warn against new grid fee for solar
Original: German associations warn against new grid fee for solar installations
Industry associations in Germany are warning against the introduction of a new grid fee for solar installations. They argue the charge would raise costs for solar system operators and could slow the country's expansion of renewable energy at a time when Germany is pushing to accelerate rooftop and large-scale solar deployment.
Why now: The proposed fee directly affects solar operators and Germany's energy transition goals, prompting immediate industry pushback.
