Gaza patients face death as Israel restricts Rafah crossing
Original: Gaza’s patients face death as Israel restricts Rafah crossing
Israel is restricting movement through the Rafah crossing between Gaza and Egypt, leaving patients in urgent need of medical evacuation unable to leave the territory. Aid and health groups warn that critically ill and wounded people are dying as a result, with hospitals in Gaza unable to provide adequate treatment. Humanitarian organisations are calling for the crossing to be reopened so that evacuation and medical supplies can resume.
Why now: Renewed Israeli restrictions on the Rafah crossing are drawing urgent attention to the worsening medical crisis inside Gaza.
