Israel rebrands forced Gaza displacement as 'migration plan' amid censorship claims
Original: Palestinians censored as Israel calls forced Gaza displacement a "migration plan"
Index on Censorship reports that Palestinians are being censored while Israeli officials describe the forced displacement of people from Gaza as a voluntary "migration plan". Critics say the language reframes displacement of civilians as legitimate policy, and that Palestinian voices are being suppressed from media and public debate, making it harder to challenge the term internationally.
Why now: Controversy over Israel's rhetoric and the silencing of Palestinian voices as displacement of Gaza's population intensifies.
