IDF creates new corps to counter drone threat
Original: israel defense forces
The Israel Defense Forces are establishing a new corps dedicated to countering low-altitude drones, according to the Jerusalem Post. The move comes amid a growing threat from unmanned aerial vehicles along Israel's borders, with small drones increasingly used for surveillance and attacks. The unit is expected to coordinate detection and interception of low-flying UAVs.
Why now: Rising concern over drone attacks on Israel is driving attention to the military's organisational response.
