Claim that US carriers avoid Strait of Hormuz spreads online
Original: USN stands back "US carriers dare not approach Hormuz, we are waiting to sink them" # Taco # Politics # News # USA # Dem
A claim circulating online says United States Navy aircraft carriers dare not approach the Strait of Hormuz, quoting a warning that forces there are waiting to sink them. The claim comes amid ongoing tensions between the US and Iran in the region. No confirmation of any carrier withdrawal or specific threat is provided, and the assertion has drawn little engagement so far.
Why now: Ongoing US-Iran tensions and fears of a wider Middle East conflict are making claims about naval standoffs in the Strait of Hormuz attention-grabbing.
