Red Bull Racing has extended Laurent Mekies' contract as CEO and team principal through to the end of 2031. Mekies, who took charge of the Formula 1 team in 2025 after Christian Horner's departure, has now been given a long-term mandate to lead the squad. The early extension signals Red Bull's confidence in his leadership as the team navigates the upcoming regulation changes.
Why now: The long-term commitment to Mekies is a significant vote of confidence and secures Red Bull's leadership ahead of F1's new engine and aero regulations.
