A birder photographed and filmed a Nelson's sparrow at Huntley Meadows Park, a rare visitor to the Virginia wetland preserve, alongside several other notable species seen the same day. They thanked the local birding community for sharing their knowledge, and the sighting is drawing interest from area birders tracking rarities at the popular park.

Why now: Rare bird sightings at well-known birding spots excite local birdwatchers and drive visits to the park.
