Meta adds typed requests to Facebook feed ranking

Original: ICYMI: Facebook feed now takes typed requests as Meta adds LLMs to ranking: Feed and Reels now accept typed interest req

Meta is adding large language models to Facebook's feed and Reels ranking system, letting users type requests for what they want to see, with updates taking effect within the same session. The change also gives creators and advertisers a ranking signal they cannot view, raising questions about what user data these models draw on.

Why now: Meta is rolling out a significant change to how its main feed works, prompting interest and privacy concerns.
