Musk says Starshield restrictions are a presidential call amid Ukraine uproar

Original: Amid Ukraine uproar, Musk says decisions to restrict Starshield up to president

Elon Musk says any decision to restrict Starshield, SpaceX's military-grade satellite service, would rest with the US president, pushing back amid an uproar over Starlink's role in Ukraine. The remarks come as critics question how much unilateral control Musk holds over satellite communications used by Ukrainian forces, and whether civilian access can be cut off without government approval.

Why now: Fresh controversy over Musk's control of satellite services used in the Ukraine war has put Starshield policy back in the spotlight.
