Borussia Dortmund in the spotlight on and off the pitch

Original: borussia

Borussia Dortmund is drawing attention for two reasons. Defender Almuth Castrop? No—Jamie Castrop... In Castrop's case, the club has named a returning player in its first-team squad for the first time since late April, a boost for the defensive rotation. Meanwhile, the BVB took its summer tour to New York, playing a match staged in the middle of Times Square, a rare showcase for German football in the United States. Fans are discussing squad depth ahead of the new season and the club's growing international marketing push.

Why now: Borussia Dortmund is making news with a squad return after a long injury absence and an unusual friendly staged in Times Square during its summer tour
