Privacy advocates urge ditching US phone platforms
Original: Fascists love lists, remember that while using your # iPhone or # Android # Degoogled # freedom # europeanalternative #
Social media users are warning that phone platforms compile user lists that could be misused by authoritarian governments, telling people to 'remember that fascists love lists'. The message pushes alternatives to iPhone and Android, including de-Googled setups and European options such as Murena, SailfishOS, /e/OS and Jolla, framing the switch as a matter of freedom and digital independence.
Why now: Growing concern in Europe about US Big Tech dependence and data surveillance is driving interest in alternative mobile operating systems.
