Wave of arrests across Italy in robbery and extremism cases
Original: arresto
Italian police have carried out a series of arrests in recent days. In Milan, Digos officers detained a 19-year-old extremist found with weapons, swords and Hitler books at home. In Arezzo, eight people were arrested after a failed attempt to rob a goldsmith's workshop involving burned cars and felled trees. Two suspects were held for robbery and drug dealing in Cesena, while a 30-year-old was arrested for the rape and robbery of a teenager in Marino, near Rome. A pharmacy robbery in Cremona was foiled by the quick thinking of its director.
Why now: A cluster of serious crime and arrest stories dominated Italian news searches this week.
