Original: The Genealogy of Eliza
A project documenting the genealogy of ELIZA, the pioneering chatbot created by Joseph Weizenbaum at MIT in the 1960s, is drawing attention. The site traces ELIZA's descendants and the lineages of software that followed it, framing today's conversational AI as part of a long line of programs going back to one of computing's most famous experiments.
