Rams cut kicker Harrison Mevis after blocked field goal
Original: Los Angeles Rams release Harrison Mevis less than 24 hours after his blocked 48-yard field goal in 37-34 OT loss to Bill
The Los Angeles Rams have released kicker Harrison Mevis less than a day after his 48-yard field goal attempt was blocked in the team's 37-34 overtime loss to the Buffalo Bills on Monday Night Football. Blake Grupe is expected to take over kicking duties as the Rams move quickly to address the costly special teams miss.
Why now: The swift roster move the morning after a high-profile overtime defeat made the blocked kick a lightning rod for fan debate.
