Quote from Burt Reynolds' final starring role circulates online
Original: "Life's kind of like that: Everybody knows how it ends. But it's the scenes in the middle that make it count." -Burt Rey
Film fans are sharing a line from The Last Movie Star, the 2017 drama directed by Adam Rifkin in which Burt Reynolds plays aging former star Vic Edwards. The quote — that everyone knows how life ends but the scenes in the middle are what count — is being praised as poignant, coming near the end of Reynolds' own career and life.
Why now: The line resonates because it reads as a reflection on Reynolds' own late-career legacy.
