German Committee Future Earth to strengthen sustainability science
Original: Strengthening sustainability science through the German Committee Future Earth
Germany is moving to reinforce sustainability research through the German Committee Future Earth, a national body linked to the international Future Earth initiative. Writing in Open Access Government, commentators argue the committee can better connect scientists, policymakers and funders to tackle climate, biodiversity and development challenges. The discussion highlights how national structures can support global sustainability science.
Why now: Germany's role in organising and funding global sustainability research is being actively promoted in science policy circles.
