Francis A. Byrne, a public golf course in West Orange, New Jersey, designed by Seth Raynor and Charles Banks, is being highlighted as rivaling the state's most exclusive courses while charging just $85 in greens fees. Located 22 miles from downtown New York City, the layout features classic Raynor template holes such as the Biarritz and Redan, designs usually found only at high-priced private clubs.
Why now: Golf fans are drawn to the rare combination of elite golden-age architecture and unusually affordable public access.
