SECAM Launches Pilot Project to Collect Data on Catholic Church in Africa
The Symposium of Episcopal Conferences of Africa and Madagascar (SECAM) has launched a pilot project to gather data on the Catholic Church across Africa. The initiative aims to build a clearer statistical picture of the Church's presence, activities and resources on the continent, covering its dioceses, parishes and pastoral work. Details on the project's scope, funding and timeline remain limited so far.
Why now: The Catholic Church's growing role in Africa makes systematic data about it significant for both religious and development observers.
