Young elephant's warning display caught on camera

A young elephant in a South African nature reserve was photographed swinging its head at a distinctive angle, a behaviour the photographer describes as a first warning sign to back off. Unlike the famously aggressive elephants of Pilanesberg, this youngster poses little danger yet, but the same signals from an adult mean it is time to move away quickly.

Why now: Striking wildlife behaviour photos of elephants giving warning signs always draw attention from nature and photography enthusiasts.
