Musician shares hilltop performance recorded on a phone
Original: Whereas this video is shot on my phone, edited in color and light by my hands and eyes and preferences, it’s the real so
A performer known as MamaLake shared a home-recorded video of live music made on a hilltop, filmed on a phone and edited personally for color and light. She calls it the real sound of the performance and says she refuses to upload it to what she calls fascist tech platforms, while acknowledging performers have little control over how their work is ultimately used or scraped.
Why now: Her refusal to post on major platforms and concerns about AI scraping of artists' work are resonating with other creators.
