Russian strikes have hit a key power plant in Kyiv, according to President Volodymyr Zelensky. The attack on critical energy infrastructure comes as Ukraine continues to face sustained targeting of its power grid, raising concerns about electricity supply for residents, particularly with demand high during the colder months. The strike is the latest in a series of Russian attacks on Ukrainian energy facilities.
Why now: The attack on critical energy infrastructure in the capital is a significant escalation affecting civilians and the war's trajectory.
