A moth recorder has highlighted Blair's shoulder-knot (Lithophane leautieri) as the moth of the day, describing it as a neat greyscale bark mimic. The species is a recent colonist whose caterpillars feed on cypress trees and is now fairly widespread across the UK. Enthusiasts online are sharing the find with light jokes about its name.
