Street chalking with religious messages spotted near Union Square
Original: Sunday chalking near Union Square before the rain washed it away # photo # photography # laowa # 9mm # nyc # city # chal
A photographer captured chalk messages with religious themes, including references to Jesus, written on the pavement near Union Square in New York City on Sunday. The images were taken with a Laowa 9mm wide-angle lens shortly before rain washed the chalk away, a reminder of how fleeting street art and street preaching messages can be in the city.
Why now: The combination of street religion, city life and evocative photography before the rain erased the chalk drew attention.
