A Denver Post column argues that Deion Sanders' Colorado Buffaloes are backsliding and that athletic director Fernando Lovo should move quickly to pursue New Mexico head coach Jason Eck before another Power 4 school hires him. The piece questions what Lovo is waiting for, framing Eck as the fix Colorado needs amid the program's decline.

Why now: Colorado's football decline under Deion Sanders has reignited debate over the program's coaching future.
