Lawyers for Brian Flores, the Minnesota Vikings defensive coordinator and former Miami Dolphins head coach, have criticised a Korn Ferry report into NFL coaching practices, arguing it relies on racial stereotypes such as describing Flores as having a 'chip on his shoulder'. The remarks come amid Flores's ongoing racial discrimination lawsuit against the league, which has kept scrutiny on NFL hiring practices for coaches of colour.
Why now: The lawyers' new criticism of the NFL-commissioned report has reignited debate over racial discrimination in league coaching hires.
