Travelers ask how to opt out of airport biometric screening
Original: Ok mastodon, what are the magic words to opt out of the biometric screening at the airport? # travel # advicewanted
A traveler is asking online what words to use to opt out of biometric screening at the airport, seeking practical advice from others. The question touches on a real issue for air passengers: US airports increasingly use facial recognition at boarding, and while US citizens legally may request a manual ID check instead, many do not know how to ask or that the option exists, prompting discussion about passenger rights and privacy.
Why now: Growing use of facial recognition at airports has made travelers unsure of their rights and how to decline biometric checks
