New Zealand's government has ordered a cap on nurse training enrolments, drawing sharp criticism amid an ongoing health workforce shortage. Critics, including nursing voices on social media, say the move makes no sense while the health system struggles with staffing, and are calling on voters to punish the government at the ballot box over the health crisis.
Why now: People are angry that a government facing a health staffing crisis is restricting the pipeline of new nurses.
