European Citizens' Initiative Pushes Back on Digital ID and Age Verification
Original: Stop Killing The Internet: No Digital ID & No Age Verification https:// citizens-initiative.europa.eu/ initiatives/detai
A European Citizens' Initiative titled 'Stop Killing The Internet' is calling on the European Commission to reject mandatory digital ID and online age verification requirements. Organisers argue such measures threaten privacy, anonymity and free access to the internet. The initiative is registered on the official European citizens' initiative portal and is being shared widely among digital rights and privacy advocates.
Why now: Ongoing European Union debates over digital identity and age verification rules have prompted campaigners to organise opposition through a citizens' initiative.
