Physical Intelligence Launches API Beta for Robot Models
Original: Physical Intelligence API Beta: Frontier Models for Every Robot
Physical Intelligence, a robotics AI company, has opened a beta of its API that gives developers access to its frontier robot foundation models. The offering would let teams connect general-purpose robotic intelligence to a wide range of hardware, similar to how large language models are served through cloud APIs. The announcement is drawing attention among developers debating how far generalist robot models can go beyond research demos.
Why now: A frontier AI lab is opening general-purpose robot models to outside developers, a step many see as a turning point for robotics.
