Bears' Montez Sweat suspended under NFL performance-enhancing substances policy
Original: Bears' Montez Sweat suspended for violating NFL's performance-enhancing substances policy
Chicago Bears defensive end Montez Sweat has been suspended for violating the NFL's policy on performance-enhancing substances, CBS Sports reported. The league announced the ban without detailing the substance or the length of the suspension. Sweat is one of the Bears' top defensive players, so the loss is a significant setback for a Chicago defense already fighting for position in the playoff race.
Why now: Sweat is a key starter for the Bears, and his suspension directly affects the team's prospects at a crucial point in the season.
