James Franco to Star in Soviet Prison Drama 'Confession'

Original: james franco

A trailer has been released for 'Confession', a Soviet prison drama directed by Václav Marhoul ('The Painted Bird') and written by Ben Shapiro. The film stars James Franco alongside Rob Lowe and Nick Nolte. The project is drawing attention for its unusual pairing of the conservative commentator as screenwriter with an established ensemble cast, and for Franco's continued return to screen work.

Why now: The trailer's release is drawing attention to the unlikely combination of Ben Shapiro, James Franco, and a Soviet gulag drama.
