The Los Angeles Rams are releasing kicker Harrison Mevis and signing Blake Grupe off the New York Jets' practice squad, according to reporting by The Athletic. The move comes after Mevis missed a 50-yard field goal and had a potential game-winning kick blocked in the Rams' overtime loss, prompting the team to make a change at the position.

Why now: Mevis's costly misses in the Rams' overtime loss directly forced the roster change, making the kicking situation a talking point.
