Israel's Maariv newspaper reports that Yisrael Beiteinu leader Avigdor Liberman claims senior Likud figures approached him seeking help to remove Benjamin Netanyahu from power. The claim is drawing attention in Israeli political circles, with commentators noting the irony of Liberman, once a hard-line coalition partner, now being courted as a potential ally against the long-serving prime minister.

Why now: Liberman's claim of secret approaches from within Likud fuels ongoing speculation about internal efforts to challenge Netanyahu's leadership.
