Tarn Adams, co-creator of the acclaimed colony simulation Dwarf Fortress, has voiced frustration with generative AI's growing presence in the games industry and says he has no intention of ever using it in his work. The stance stands out as a rare rejection in a sector where many studios are adopting AI tools, and players have been quick to applaud the developer's position.

Why now: Gamers and developers are actively debating generative AI's role in game creation, making a prominent developer's firm refusal noteworthy.
