Commentators accuse Donald Trump of abandoning long-standing American policy in a matter of days, with one widely shared argument saying he torched decades of established US positions and undermined a year and a half of his own diplomacy. The claim is framed around US relations with Russia and Ukraine, and is drawing strong reactions in political discussion about Washington's shifting stance.
Why now: Fresh US policy shifts on Russia and Ukraine are prompting debate over whether Trump abandoned his own diplomatic efforts.
