Gardeners identify mystery plant as herb Robert
Original: What's this? (Not sure if it's what I planted) edit: probably Geranium robertianum # gardening
A gardener has asked online for help naming an unknown plant that sprouted where they had sown something else, later concluding it is probably Geranium robertianum, commonly known as herb Robert. The identification matters to gardeners because the plant self-seeds readily and can spread quickly, so knowing whether a seedling is intentional or a volunteer affects whether it is kept or removed.
Why now: Unexpected volunteer plants are a common gardening puzzle, and correct identification of Geranium robertianum determines whether it stays in the bed.
