Rangers weigh goalie options with Shesterkin out for the season

Original: Evaluating the Rangers' goalie options with Igor Shesterkin out for the season https://www. nytimes.com/athletic/7682375

New York Rangers star goaltender Igor Shesterkin is out for the season, forcing the team to reshuffle its crease. Dylan Garand is expected to take over the starting job for now, with Joonas Korpisalo among the backup options. Analysts say the next 10 games will show whether Garand can hold the net or whether the Rangers need to look elsewhere to keep their season alive.

Why now: Shesterkin's season-ending injury leaves a major hole in net, and fans are debating whether Garand and the current roster can fill it.
