Original: “No to Execution Tuesdays” Campaign Continues in 66 Prisons Across Iran in Its 142nd Week
Iranian prisoners in 66 prisons are continuing the 'No to Execution Tuesdays' campaign, now in its 142nd week. Inmates refuse food on Tuesdays to protest the country's widespread use of the death penalty, and supporters say the action is one of the longest-running prison protest movements in Iran, drawing attention from human rights groups and opposition networks abroad.
Why now: The campaign has reached a rare 142-week milestone, highlighting ongoing anger over executions in Iran.
