A German-speaking smart home enthusiast is asking online for a few old Danfoss radiator valves to build a small test station for electronic radiator thermostats. The valves will be used to develop heating control for Home Assistant, the popular open-source home automation platform. The request has drawn a modest response, with followers asked to help find a heating technician or spare parts.
Why now: Niche smart home and Home Assistant communities are active and often respond to requests for recycled hardware for DIY projects.
