Physicists report an astonishing new property of light
Original: Physicists discover “astonishing” property of light that defies expectations
Physicists say they have discovered an unexpected property of light, describing the finding as astonishing because it goes against what established optical theory predicted. Details of the experiment and the exact nature of the property remain sparse in early coverage. Researchers in optics and quantum physics are expected to examine the claim closely, and the finding could prompt follow-up experiments if it holds up to independent replication.
Why now: A surprising physics result challenging established expectations about light naturally draws wide scientific and public attention.
