Akashiya Sanma reacts to comedian's shoplifting scandal
Original: 明石家さんま
Japanese comedian Akashiya Sanma says he feels let down by Wagaya's Sugiyama over an alleged shoplifting incident, saying the comedy community sees itself as a group of friends and he had already been worried about him. Separately, a junior comedian revealed that Sanma's older brother runs a karaoke bar in Sanma's home prefecture of Nara, keeping the veteran entertainer in the headlines.
Why now: The veteran comedian is making headlines over both his reaction to a fellow comedian's shoplifting case and revelations about his family in Nara.
