BRICS Creates Space Council Without Forming a Space Bloc
Original: BRICS Is Building a Space Council Without Building a Space Bloc
BRICS is establishing a space council to coordinate its members' space activities, but analysts at the Australian Institute of International Affairs argue this falls short of forming a unified space bloc. The council signals growing ambition in space governance among the grouping, yet members appear to prefer loose coordination over an integrated alliance, leaving questions about how far BRICS space cooperation will actually go.
Why now: Debate over whether BRICS's new space council signals a geopolitical space alliance or just loose coordination.
