Mamdani Keeps Adams Policy Allowing Cars on Park Drives
Original: The Hangover: Mamdani Continues Adams Policy of Allowing Cars on Park Drives
New York City mayor-elect Zohran Mamdani is continuing the Eric Adams administration's policy of allowing cars on park drives, according to Streetsblog New York City. The report, framed as a political 'hangover,' suggests disappointment among street-safety advocates who expected the incoming administration to reverse course and prioritize pedestrian and cyclist access in parks.
Why now: Advocates are reacting to the incoming mayor keeping a contested car policy in public parks rather than reversing it.
