Ken Paxton Launches Texas Senate Campaign
Original: Ken Paxton's Texas Senate campaign
Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton is drawing attention over his campaign for the US Senate, challenging incumbent John Cornyn in the Republican primary. Supporters frame the run as a conservative shake-up of the state's political establishment, while critics point to Paxton's legal troubles and question his electability in a statewide general election.
Why now: Paxton's primary challenge against a longtime incumbent is a significant development in Texas Republican politics.
