A widely shared claim asserts that the United States has a domestic 'secret police' force that goes out and harms people the current administration dislikes. The claim is linked to a Washington Post article shared without further detail, and no independent confirmation of the specific allegations is included in the discussion. Commenters circulating it frame it as a warning about threats to civil liberties and rule of law heading into the elections.
Why now: Fears about federal agents being used against political opponents are circulating during the election season.
