GOP Super PAC Airs Susan Collins Ad in Wrong Portland

Original: susan collins super pac ad mixup

A Republican super PAC spent thousands of dollars on an ad supporting Senator Susan Collins, but ran it in the wrong Portland — airing it in Portland, Oregon instead of Portland, Maine, where her voters actually live. The mixup has drawn amusement and criticism online, with commentators mocking the wasted spending and questioning the outside group's understanding of Maine politics.

Why now: The humorous geographic blunder in a costly political ad is drawing attention to Susan Collins' re-election race.
